Peony Poppy 'Black' (Papaver paeniflorum)
This black variety has huge, velvety, double blooms of dark maroon in color against a blue-green foliage. The flowers are so dark that they appear to be black. The 4" - 6" flowers are beautiful and unique with tightly packed ruffled, whorled petals that glow in the summer sun! When they are finished blooming, attractive seed pods will form which can be cut for use in dried floral arrangements. Peony Poppy plants reach 32" - 40" in height. Freeze seeds for 48 hours before sowing to increase the germination rate. Full sun to partial shade.
