Coral Nymph is a very attractive annual flower that's deer resistant, will tolerate salt spray and salty soil, and like most Salvias, loves heat! This species will do well right through the hottest weather with or without water.  Salvia coccinea prefers sharp-draining soil and is a sub-shrub perennial in warmer climates and an annual where winter temperatures stay below freezing for more than a few hours at a time. Coral Nymph blooms appear continuously from early summer to first frost. Will tolerate intermittent shade but does best in full sun, tolerates drought, but flowering may suffer without supplemental watering during dry spells.
